New structures and fresh impetus

Clearer structures, fresh impetus: eTeach network strengthens its commitment to digital teaching

As part of a strategic realignment, we are focusing on a breath of fresh air and new opportunities in the eTeach network Thuringia. With several personnel adjustments - the dissolution of a management position, the realignment of the content of a specialist position and the filling of several vacant positions - we are creating structures that will make us more agile, focused and innovative.

The switch from dual to single management shortens decision-making paths and optimizes coordination, allowing us to react even faster to new challenges. In addition, we have a newly contoured Center for Media Didactics which is intended to shape our funding formats and their didactic support in line with requirements.

There have also been personnel changes at our contact points, bringing valuable expertise to the network:

Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences: With Martin Groß, a Moodle expert, we have gained a competent contact person for digital learning platforms and e-learning applications. He previously worked at Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences in the field of digitalization of teaching and supported lecturers in the design of Moodle courses, digital exams and teaching and learning videos, among other things.

University of Erfurt: The contact point will be shared by Dr. Amrita Mondal and Wiebke Degler. Amrita Mondal has extensive experience in advising teachers and researchers as well as in coordinating and supporting multi-stakeholder processes (also with international partners). She will focus on digitally supported testing.
With Wiebke Degler, the network has gained a Moodle expert with many years of experience in (digital) university teaching and didactic media creation. She also brings to the network her expertise from her work as an art educator and collaborator on interdisciplinary research projects at the University of Würzburg in various digitization projects.

In addition, the Networking and qualification department by Salma Viràg Pethö-Zayed. She has the task of further promoting exchange within the network and continuing to develop contemporary and needs-oriented further education courses for teachers.

Since January, Karsten Jahn has also been Specialist office for AI qualification on board at the EAH Jena. He is contributing his expertise to our AI certification program and is working on the development of a train-the-trainer program and an AI certificate for the use of AI in university teaching. These offerings should make a significant contribution to the recognition of relevant further education courses in the future.

We are looking forward to working with all our new colleagues and are excited about the new impulses and perspectives that we will jointly introduce into practice at Thuringian universities.
