Fellowships for innovation in university teaching

In cooperation with the Stifterverband, the Thuringian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Science and Digital Society awards up to ten fellowships for innovations in digital university teaching each year. The aim of the program is to create incentives for the development and testing of digitally supported teaching and examination formats or to stimulate the curricular redesign of modules and study sections through the use of digital technologies and best-practice sharing. It promotes cross-university exchange on (digital) university teaching and the dissemination of the teaching innovations developed by networking the fellows and contributes to the consolidation of digital university teaching in the universities themselves.

The call for proposals is aimed at lecturers who work at state-funded universities in the Free State of Thuringia. The funding is intended to provide impetus for the development and testing of digitally supported teaching and examination formats or the curricular redesign of modules with the consistent use of digital technologies. Up to 50,000 euros can be applied for per fellowship. Project funding begins on October 1, 2024; the funding period ends on December 31, 2025.

The application deadline was May 15, 2024. For more details on the application conditions and funding modalities, please refer to the Website of the Stifterverband.

For interested applicants, we offered an information event (online) on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at which information was provided about the program, the application modalities and selection criteria. Participants had the opportunity to clarify their questions.

If you have any questions about the program, please contact fellowships[at]stifterverband.de.

The contact person at TMWWDG for questions about the funding procedure is Ms. Fichtner (Josephine.Fichtner[at]tmwwdg.thueringen.de).

KI-Campus: The learning platform for artificial intelligence

The AI Campus is a pilot project funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and was released as a beta version in mid-2020. The focus is on the prototypical development of a digital learning platform specializing in AI. The Stifterverband, the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), the Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI), NEOCOSMO and the mmb Institute have been jointly developing the AI Campus since October 2019. The AI Campus offers its own and curated learning opportunities in various fields of artificial intelligence, courses, videos, podcasts and many other formats for students, professionals and lifelong learners as well as exchange and networking with learners and exciting experts from the AI Campus community.

Digital Learning Map

The Digital Learning Map presents selected teaching and learning scenarios in which digital media are integrated at German universities in the form of a database. It thus offers an overview of innovative projects and examples of good practice from various disciplines and teaching institutions, which can be easily located geographically and thus made visible using an online map. The database, developed in cooperation with e-teaching.org and the Digital Learning Map 2020 project of the Leibniz-Institut für Wissensmedien (IWM), offers you the opportunity to present your future-oriented teaching ideas and examples from your digital teaching and research practice on e-teaching.org and on the HFD website.
