The illustration machine

The ILLUMAT is a drawing machine that appears in public spaces and interacts with a wide audience. The public writes their wishes on a wish list, throws their wish and coins into the ILLUMAT, and within a short time the automaton ejects an individual drawing that has been conceived and realized in a matter of minutes. The illustration machine transforms the wishes and ideas of its audience into pictures that surprise and delight. Hidden inside the machine are the illustrators who transform the wish into an individual drawing. The output of the machine surprises the client through the direct and personal visualization of his idea. This creates an immediate exchange between man and machine, between text and image. The Illumat was created in 2007 as part of an illustration project at the Bauhaus University Weimar under the direction of Jutta Bauer. He now works as an artist collective with various freelance illustrators at regional, national and international level. Info and contact: https://www.illustrationsautomat.de
Ensemble pig in a poke

They are the flexible all-rounders of the Weimar University of Music. You arrange pop/jazz choral pieces with a high level of difficulty. You sing what is presented to you by fellow students. You will use a microphone. You practise swarm intelligence and still make music independently. They are the ideal music teachers of tomorrow. Nobody knows what they will do next. They are a pig in a poke and we are looking forward to their performance on November 17 in Ilmenau! >>> Info and contact

Coordination

Martin Backhaus, eTeach contact point at Ilmenau University of Technology: As a qualified computer scientist with a keen interest in effective, didactically sensible teaching concepts, Martin is our man on site in Ilmenau. For the annual conference, he is primarily responsible for the trade fair day with room planning and calculating the stand concepts. It is also thanks to his good connections with colleagues at the Technical University that we are able to welcome exciting local projects and contributions to the annual conference. And fortunately, Martin always keeps a cool head when it comes to spontaneous ideas, changes and adjustments! Contact: martin.backhaus[at]tu-ilmenau.de

Iren Schulz, Qualification and Communication Unit in the eTeach Network Thuringia: In the eTeach network coordination team, Iren is responsible for organizing the qualification programme and also takes care of network events. For the annual conference, she was primarily responsible for communication, website and social media as well as program design. The hybrid implementation of this year's event, the division into a trade fair and conference day and the organization of contributors and participants caused a few drops of sweat for Iren. But we are sure - everything will be fine in the end! Contact: iren.schulz[at]uni-weimar.de
