This presentation will explore the role of AI as a tool to support collaboration in education, focusing on different forms of collaborative learning, such as cooperative learning, team-based learning, group learning and peer learning. Participants will engage with practical examples using AI platforms already in use by the eTeach network. This will allow them to recognize how these tools can enhance collaboration, reflect together on their experiences and discuss the potential impact of using this software in their own teaching and learning contexts.

Learning objectives: At the end of this session, participants can:

  •  Recognize different forms of cooperation in educational institutions,
  • Identify AI tools that can improve collaboration between teachers and students,
  • Implement practical strategies using AI to enable effective collaboration.
  • recognize potential limitations and problems associated with AI in this area.

Short biography

Sophie Foster is an educational technologist at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. She supports the development of prototypes for virtual learning spaces and AI tools in the university environment. She is also currently coordinating the "Welcome to Thuringia" project, which offers a modern digital learning platform for international students interested in studying in the region.

In this talk, the role of AI as a tool to support collaboration in education will be explored, focusing on various forms of collaborative learning such as cooperative learning, team-based learning, group learning, and peer learning. Participants will engage with practical examples through AI platforms already utilised by the eTeach network. Through this they can recognize how these tools can enhance collaborative interactions, reflect together on their experiences and discuss the potential impact of using this software within their own teaching and learning contexts.
