Students are given the opportunity to plan a house from various points of view, such as thermal insulation, moisture protection, sound insulation and the Energy Saving Ordinance.
They draw on theoretical knowledge from the previous semester and apply this to a specific example in a seminar.
The students document the results of their planning in a document. In addition to the colloquium, this is part of the examination. In the final colloquium, students present their work in a lecture. The 15 to 20-minute lecture is accompanied and illustrated by a presentation (PowerPoint).
In the future, the assignment and colloquium can form the prelude to a series of courses in which students systematically take up topics and apply them to their own chosen example or transfer them into practice. Students therefore remain involved in their project for part of the programme and gradually bring it to a high level of maturity. This attempt has already been made as an example.
