Lectures can only describe complex processes, workflows and responsibilities in an exemplary manner. Such explanations only become vivid and lively through a visit on site.

Visits to businesses and companies give an impression of how the processes described in theory can be implemented in reality. The functioning of companies, parts of companies and structural units is made clear through an on-site visit.
This gives students an impression of everyday working life, the tasks and roles in the company and allows them to gain personal assessments in discussions with company employees.

Problem

Solutions

General conditions

Specific time slots are usually set aside for company visits. Excursions are an integral part of many degree programmes.
Depending on the topic, company visits are suitable for all students on Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes.

Consequences

The response to company visits / excursions varies. Students on the Civil Engineering degree programme demand this form of practical relevance.

Company visits in the field of horticulture are not initially rated so highly by students. However, alumni repeatedly gave positive feedback on the usefulness and the knowledge gained - even if this only became clearer after graduation.

Materials

Cooperation partners required for the visits (experience already available!)
